I always wanted
to go to Cuba. I can clearly remember the first time I was introduced to the
beautiful and cultural Caribbean island – it was when I first saw the movie Dirty dancing: Havana nights. I bet a lot
of you fell in love with Cuba do to the same movie as well. The music, the
dance, and all that represented Cuba played a big part in me being interested
in visiting it one day. You grew older, you get to know more about the history
and culture of the island and with all the knowledge, the interest grew stronger.
You
can imagine how exited I was when we bought our flight tickets and when we
actually arrived in Cuba.
-So excited!
We decided that
we want to see as much as we could in 2 weeks’ time that we had, therefore we were
all in for backpacking through Cuba.
We were new to this kind of travel and in addition, it was our first time that
we travel together somewhere that far and first time for my man to go on a flight longer than 5 hours. We were excited and
at the same time a bit anxious.
First few days in
Havana were the hardest for us - you are trying to adapt to a different
culture, different way of communicating and in general, trying to understand locals’
way of living. After all, it was the first time that we experienced
cultural shock. I will not lie, even
at the end of our travel, it was still hard, but you get more used to it.
Moreover, Cuba
stole our hearts. <3 There is something about the people, vibes of the
cities and Cuban culture that suck you in.
And we will go
back! We will definitely be coming back to this beautiful island.
